Guide to Turnover Requirements

Some casinos run with wagering requirements (English: sticky) and others do not have wagering requirements (English: no-sticky) before you can make withdrawals from the casino - but how does this really work?

Turnover requirements

At the casinos with wagering requirements, the requirement is often 20, 25 or 35 times the amount. This amount is the money you have deposited and what you have received through the bonus. For example, you deposit 5,000 kroner at a casino with a 100% bonus and then the casino doubles your deposit and you will have a total of 10,000 kroner to play for. The turnover requirement applies to the entire amount, ie if the requirement is 25 times the amount then in this case there will be a requirement to turn over 250,000 kroner before you can make a withdrawal.

Calculation example:

Deposit: 5000 kr
Bonus: 5000 kr (100%)
Money to play for: 10,000 kr
Turnover requirements: 25 times
Total turnover amount: 250,000 kr
Example bet per spin: 10 kroner
Number of spins before possible withdrawal 25,000

No turnover requirements

Casinos that do not have no-sticky requirements still have some rules for how to use the bonus money.

When you make a deposit and get a bonus, for example you deposit 5000 kroner and get 5000 kroner (100% bonus) then you will first play for your own money and winnings you have received from them. After they are used up, you start playing for the bonus money, and then you have to play for the full amount of bonus money you have received (5000 kroner in this example), but after that you can withdraw the winnings you have received from to play with the bonus money.

The benefits of playing with no-sticky bonuses (English: no-sticky):

  • Is that if you get a very large win, then you can cancel the bonus money and withdraw the remaining amount.
Example: You deposit 5,000 kroner and with the bonus a total of 10,000 kroner to play for and before you go below the bonus limit (5,000 kroner in this example) you get a large prize of e.g. 25,000 kroner and you then have a total of 32,000 kroner in the account, then you can cancel the bonus and withdraw 27,000 kroner. If you had been on a bonus with a wagering requirement of 25 times, you would still have to play for a total of 250,000 kroner.
  • You will always end up with money you can withdraw (gain from the bonus money) as opposed to bonuses with wagering requirements where you have to play for eg 25 times your money before you can make withdrawals.

How online casino bonuses work in practice:

  1. You deposit 5,000 kroner.
  2. You get 5000 kroner in bonus (100% bonus)
  3. And has a total of 10,000 kroner to play for.
  4. First player you get the money from point 1 and winnings from those.
    > If you get a big win now, you can cancel the bonus money and make withdrawals immediately.
  5. You reach the bonus limit which is the amount from point 2. (Balance is lower than the money from point 2)
  6. Then you have to play for the full bonus amount.
    > Once you have played for the amount from point 2, you can make withdrawals - which will then be gain from the bonus money.
